Today, we’re going to explore the deaths of Marvel characters in movies that have left fans in profound sorrow.

Stick around and let’s see: What feelings would come to your memory later on.

1. Tony Stark in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019)

The first character is not just a famous name in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and popular culture; Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) is truly an icon.

But did you know: his sacrifice meant more than just defeating Thanos?

Since his introduction, Iron Man has often been seen as a self-absorbed hero. However, the moment he chose to harness the power of the Infinity Stones to annihilate Thanos’ army was a pivotal one.

Clearly, this act would also seal Tony’s fate, given the Stones’ immense power.

Just as Iron Man’s emergence signaled the dawn of the Avengers, his departure poignantly concludes Phase 3.

His final act fulfills the journey of Tony Stark and leaves an indelible mark on our hearts.

2. Vision in “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018)

Can you imagine a character whose fate is a poignant blend of love, sacrifice, and inevitability? That’s the tragic end of Vision in “Avengers: Infinity War.”

His existence, intricately linked to an Infinity Stone, positions him at the heart of Thanos’s apocalyptic mission, culminating in his moving end.

The emotional peak of Vision’s departure lies not only in the act itself but also in the moments of tender farewell with Wanda, highlighting the depth of their bond.

But the worst is: Wanda, and everyone, has to witness his death TWICE.

Once by her own hand, and again when Thanos used the Time Stone to resurrect Vision, only to cruelly destroy him to get the Mind Stone.

3. Gamora in “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018)

I know it’s not a widely shared view among MCU fans, but believe me, Gamora’s tragic moment on Vormir is truly a highlight of “Avengers: Infinity War.”

When I first saw that scene, I was taken aback: Thanos… crying? For real? Yes, it was true.

To him, Gamora was the sole emotional tie, his most valiant daughter. As The Red Skull said, the Soul Stone demands a price – the sacrifice of a loved one.

It’s noteworthy that whenever Thanos acquired an Infinity Stone, he did so with pride.

But this time, there was something different about his eyes… something I’m still not quite used to.

4. Xavier in “Logan” (2017)

The next character, Charles Xavier or Professor X, might not hail from the MCU directly, but he’s an icon in the Marvel Universe.

But sadly, his death in the film is heartbreakingly tragic, especially when you understand the deep bond he shared with Logan (Wolverine).

In the 2029 timeline of “Days of Future Past,” Professor X meets a grim end. His worsening neurological condition results in a catastrophe that claims 300 lives, leading to his being targeted by the government.

By then, only Logan remains by his side, having fled to the outskirts of Mexico together.

Unfortunately, the moment Xavier tearfully recalls the harm he has caused, unaware it is a clone of Logan (X-24) hunting him, Xavier is mercilessly killed.

This devastating loss, born from a tragic misunderstanding, leaves an indelible mark of sorrow, touching not only Logan but also everyone who witnessed it.

5. Natasha Romanoff in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019)

A unique force among the Avengers, a spy with a mysterious past: Natasha Romanoff, or Black Widow’s final act in “Avengers: Endgame,” captures the heart of her story.

Her true power comes not from superpowers but from her strength, intelligence, and above all, her bravery and humanity.

Once more, in the eerie quiet of Vormir, a sacrifice is needed for the Soul Stone.

Together with her partner, Hawkeye, they battle—not to win, but to offer the other a chance to live. Then her choice to sacrifice herself for the Stone shows her dedication to the greater cause.

This moment, a poignant mix of courage and loss, deeply moves both the audience and her fellow Avengers.

6. Yondu in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” (2017)

In “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” Yondu Udonta is not just a formidable Ravager; he’s a character with profound emotional depth.

Initially seen mainly as an antagonist, his journey uncovers a deep bond with Peter Quill (Star-Lord), redefining him as a father figure rather than just an adversary.

You still remember this scene, don’t you?

Yondu’s selfless demise to protect Peter stands as one of the MCU’s most touching moments, showcasing the true power of redemption and the richness of unconventional love.

His parting words, “He may have been your father, boy, but he wasn’t your daddy,” alongside his ultimate sacrifice, etched a lasting impression on both the story and the hearts of viewers.

7. Logan in “Logan” (2017)

Logan, aka Wolverine, meets a raw, touching end in “Logan,” concluding the journey of one of the most legendary figures in the superhero world.

Have you ever wondered what could harm an invincible mutant like Wolverine?

Ironically, it was the erosion of time, evidenced by a life filled with loss and hardship. Perhaps Yashida in “The Wolverine” (2013) argued this correctly.

In 2029 of the timeline “Days of Future Past,” poisoned by the Adamantium in his body, Logan’s healing abilities begin to falter, affecting his combat prowess.

Thus, as he speaks his final words, “So this is what it feels like,” both fans and the character himself experience the sweet sorrow of conclusion, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who has followed his saga.

8. Aunt May in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021)

The next sacrifice comes not from a hero but it makes a hero, hero: Aunt May in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

Her death strikes a deep emotional chord in both Peter Parker and audiences, highlighting a pivotal moment in Peter’s evolution as Spider-Man.

As Peter’s sole family figure, Aunt May anchors him with her kindness, resilience, and the iconic mantra, “With great power comes great responsibility.”

Her passing marks a crucial turning point for Peter, deeply embedding the weight of his responsibilities and the sacrifices inherent in his path as Spider-Man.

9. Uncle Ben in “Spider-Man” (2002)

While Aunt May’s storyline is crafted by Marvel Studios, Uncle Ben’s death in “Spider-Man” (2002) lays the groundwork for Peter Parker’s evolution into Spider-Man, deeply entrenched in his portrayal on film.

His passing, a result of Peter’s inaction, propels Peter into his Spider-Man identity, highlighting the adage “With great power comes great responsibility.”

However, unlike the MCU narrative, Uncle Ben was unaware of Peter’s secret identity as Spider-Man, making his advice a testament to his fatherly concern.

This is why, despite the MCU’s depiction of Aunt May, Uncle Ben’s words remain one of the most iconic moments.
