Wonder Woman and Thor are similar, given their god-like abilities that include ultra-slow aging, which allows them to live for thousands of years. Both are also worthy of wielding Mjolnir. So if these two similar characters met in a battle, who would win?
Given Stormbreaker’s power, Thor has the advantage if he’s wielding the relic. However, Wonder Woman is worthy of Mjolnir. So if Thor is going into battle with his hammer instead of the ax, Wonder Woman could hold the ultimate advantage.

Who is Wonder Woman?
Wonder Woman (Diana) was born on the Island of Themyscira in 3,000 BCE as the daughter of Zeus and Queen Hippolyta. While she wanted nothing more than to become a warrior, Hippolyta objected and refused to give in to her daughter’s wishes.
However, Diana trained as a warrior under her Aunt Antiope, and later found herself immersed in World War I after she crossed Steve Trevor, a soldier fleeing German forces. This served as her chance to put her warrior training into practice, and she fought for the Allied Powers.
During the ensuing conflict, she encountered Ares, the catalyst behind the war, and he revealed her as the God Killer–the one her father, Zeus, hoped would one day fulfill her life’s purpose and defeat Ares.
Diana lived up to her billing, beating Ares in battle and freeing the world from his grasp.
Unfortunately for Diana, Steve and many others she’d encountered during the war died, leaving her broken-hearted and isolated. Despite this, she still moved forward to fulfill her new mission to protect humanity from those like Ares.
Who is Thor?
As an Asgardian god, Thor is one of the most powerful characters in Marvel. He showed off his powers several times during the Infinity Saga, and he even came close to defeating the Mad Titan Thanos (who possessed the Infinity Stones).
Thor also took on Frost Giants and later found a way to defeat his sister, Hela, at Ragnarok. Though Hela destroyed Mjolnir, Thor concocted a sound successor with Stormbreaker, a weapon he used more than once against Thanos.
To construct Stormbreaker, he had to withstand absorbing a star, which further demonstrates how powerful the Asgardian god was when he survived the ordeal.
Wonder Woman’s Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
Like Thor, Wonder Woman is descended from one of the universe’s most powerful gods, so she has god-like strength, agility, reflexes, speed, and endurance.
Also like Thor, Wonder Woman has lived for over a thousand years. In fact, the DCEU has her birth date set at 3,000 BCE, meaning she’s over 5,000 years old. This makes her an immortal, and tough for even an Asgardian god like Thor to defeat.
Another similarity in strength between Diana and Thor is that she’s also one of few in the universe worthy to use Mjolnir.
If she took Mjolnir from Thor, assuming the God of Thunder didn’t discard it for Stormbreaker, she can unleash some serious damage and potentially win the fight.
She can teleport and keep opponents guessing where she is. Diana could even teleport herself to an environment too harsh for an opponent to withstand, like a desert, a mountain peak, or space.
Wonder Woman has no issues surviving in the most volatile environments, giving her a massive advantage.
If Diana faced a stronger opponent capable of withstanding harsh environments, she could still teleport from them and attack from long range, since her advanced senses would give her a good idea of where they could be lurking.
How might she attack from such distances? One way would be if she used the magical sword Hephaestus created. She could also swoop in using her power of flight, or even evoke magical blasts.
When Diana works her magic, she also changes form into a sorceress-like figure. If this form awakens in a fight against Thor, Wonder Woman could easily win this battle.
Weaknesses
Naivety is one huge weakness Diana would have against Thor. She lived a sheltered life and hasn’t always understood the real world. Her brother, Ares, took advantage of this, and Thor could do the same by coming across as weak when he’s arguably the strongest Avenger.
If Diana fell for such a trick, she would lose to the Asgardian god in seconds.
Any type of poison or gas can harm Wonder Woman, and the latter can even foster hallucinations. Diana also has sensitive eyes, and if Thor evoked a blast targeting them, it could leave her flailing against the Asgardian God.
Wonder Woman’s bracelets are great for defense, and she could even use them to stop some of Thor’s blasts with Mjolnir or Stormbreaker. The issue, however, is that her bracelets also make her weaker, and it would take maximum strength to defeat a god like Thor.
Thor’s Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
Like most in Marvel, Thor possesses superhuman speed, durability, endurance, immunity, reflexes, and strength. His speed and strength are among the highest in the franchise, as they sit at the highest possible ranking of seven.
Few characters in Marvel are worthy enough to wield Mjolnir, and the hammer gives Thor even more incredible strengths. Mjolnir lets the God of Thunder summon lightning, control the wind, time travel, and even open portals to Asgard.
Cosmic Pyrokinesis is yet another power of Thor’s, and he acquired it after he realized that Frigga wasn’t his mother–the Phoenix was. This allows the Thunder God to conjure and wield the fire element.
We also can’t forget about Stormbreaker, a weapon that can wield the elements with more power than Mjolnir. The relic, made of Uru, can also resist any blast it faces, even if a blast came from powerful objects like the Infinity Stones.
Odinforce is yet another strength Thor possesses that makes him one of Marvel’s most powerful and dangerous heroes. As the leader of Asgard, Thor acquired this ability from his father, Odin, and it augments all of the powers shown above to an almost unlimited level.
While Thor has a plethora of superpowers, those listed above give him the best chance to defeat a hero with Wonder Woman’s strengths.
Weaknesses
Thor may be one of Marvel’s strongest characters, yet he doesn’t come without a few weaknesses.
He is short-tempered, and this can work against him if he’s having a hard time winning a fight. This could cause the God of Thunder to act irrationally in battle, and it would allow an opponent to further gain the upper hand.
Thor can also be arrogant, at times believing he’s superior to everyone. If he goes into a fight thinking this way, he’s losing to a more powerful opponent every time.
While Thor can heal faster than any human, he has a tougher time healing from magical blasts and curses. If an opponent cursed him, he would not recover and would end up losing the battle.
As with many heroes, their greatest strength can sometimes be their greatest weakness, and it’s clear that Thor can win most battles with Odinforce.
The issue is that if his opponent is powerful enough to withstand Odinforce, it can work against Thor, sending him into Odinsleep to recharge. This almost guarantees his opponent would win.

Wonder Woman vs. Thor – Who Would Win?
With Stormbreaker
While Diana could be powerful enough to withstand Odinforce, there is no weapon as powerful as Stormbreaker. If Thor can gain the upper hand against an Infinity Gauntlet-wielding Thanos with Stormbreaker, he can beat anyone, even someone with god-like abilities.
Sure, Thor is weak against magical blasts and curses, and Diana would likely throw the former his way. But even they wouldn’t get past Stormbreaker, as it’s capable of even blocking offensives from the Infinity Stones.
Thor would win this one with Stormbreaker after he blocked Diana’s most powerful attacks. He would invoke the Odinforce, and that would be it unless she withstands it.
Diana could try to retreat or teleport away, but thanks to Thor’s lightning-fast speed that his relics enhance, she stands no chance in this one.
Without Stormbreaker
Mjolnir was Thor’s trustiest weapon before he forged Stormbreaker, but remember, in Thor: Ragnarok, his older sister, Hela, gained control over and destroyed the relic.
Since Diana is worthy of Mjolnir, she would go straight for the hammer, separating it from the God of Thunder.
Once she separates Mjolnir, Wonder Woman can use her speed in this situation to teleport away from Thor, use her enhanced senses to decipher where he’s heading, then hit him with her magic.
Since the God of Thunder is weak against magic, he stands no chance without Stormbreaker.
This is assuming Wonder Woman can overcome her naivety, and that Thor would not figure out that Diana’s eyes are a weak point.
While Wonder Woman cannot launch such powerful attacks with her bracelets and they can even weaken her, Thor’s inability to heal quickly if he’s hit with magical blasts, spells, and curses further confirms Diana would win this battle.
Conclusion
Thor and Wonder Woman descend from gods, making them equal in many ways. They have enhanced speed, strength, durability, and reflexes, to name a few abilities. They can also teleport and can both wield Mjolnir.
Therefore, this one comes down to whether the God of Thunder is wielding Stormbreaker.
With Stormbreaker being one of the most powerful weapons in the universe, Thor would defeat Wonder Woman. However, if he didn’t have the ax on him, he would have a tougher time.
Diana can wield Mjolnir, and if she can get it to bend to her will or outright destroy it in the same manner as Hela during Ragnarok, Thor doesn’t have a chance. Wonder Woman would destroy the hammer, then hit Thor with her magic, ending this one early.
