You see, sometime previously, Morales had visited his uncle, Aaron Davis, a criminal who had stolen a genetically-enhanced spider. The spider bit Morales, giving him many of the same abilities as Spider-Man, plus additional powers that Spider-Man didn’t have.

After Spider-Man’s death, Morales attends his funeral, still grieving his fallen idol and blaming himself for his death. Morales decides to take up the mantle of Spider-Man, using his powers for good and to help people in New York as Parker had done.

As the new Spider-Man, Morales faces off against many of Parker’s old enemies, including the Green Goblin, Venom, and Mysterio. He also faces his own uncle, who is living a life of crime and becomes known as the Prowler.

Miles Morales always tries to stand up for what’s right and help people in need. But he is young and inexperienced. He often finds himself dealing with even bigger threats than Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, all while trying to survive normal life as a teenager in Brooklyn.

Who is Peter Parker?

Peter Parker is the friendly neighborhood superhero in most versions of the Marvel universe, including the MCU. He initially gained his powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider.

The MCU version of Parker is a tech-smart high school student who uses his powers in secret to help people in his community. His exploits captured Tony Stark’s attention, and Stark recruited him during the Avengers’ civil war.

Parker later fought with the Avengers in the Battle of Titan and the Battle of Earth before facing Mysterio during a class trip to Europe, when his identity was revealed to the world.

He tried to have Doctor Strange make the world forget that he was Spider-Man, but these efforts had dire consequences as the failed spell unleashed the multiverse on Earth.

He finally had Strange cast a spell causing everyone to forget who Peter Parker was, which eliminated the multiverse threat but erased his memory from the world. This allowed him to again become the friendly neighborhood superhero, protected by his anonymity.

Miles Morales’ Strengths and Weaknesses

10 Abilities Spider-Man Miles Morales Possesses

Miles Morales possesses all the classic Spider-Man powers and abilities. He has superhuman levels of strength, speed, agility, and durability. His hands and feet can stick to walls, allowing him to easily scale them.

He has an excellent immune system and superhuman healing factor, allowing him to recover from injuries quickly. He also has the characteristic spider sense, enabling him to sense danger before it happens.

In addition, he also has some extra powers that the original Spider-Man did not possess.

He can camouflage himself to anything, allowing him to blend in with his surroundings. His camouflage abilities are so good that he becomes practically invisible.

Perhaps his greatest strength is the Venom Blast–something comparable to a spider bite or sting.

The Venom Blast allows him to disrupt an opponent’s nervous system simply by touching them, charging his web, or shooting at them from long-range.

One step up from this is the Mega Venom Blast, which causes his eyes to glow before he releases a great burst of energy that destroys everything around him.

Weaknesses

Morales is a smart kid, but not nearly as tech savvy as Peter Parker. Not only that, his overall intelligence doesn’t seem to be on the same level as Parker’s, which might be a liability if they were to fight one another.

Aside from this, his only real weakness is actually a side effect of using the Mega Venom Blast. This power saps him of a great deal of energy, leaving him exhausted and in need of a recovery period.

Peter Parker is known for having superhuman levels of strength, and he is classed as a Level 4 superhero. He also has superhuman speed, agility, and durability.

He heals from injuries quickly thanks to his impressive healing factor. He also has an above-average immune system.

His spider sense gives him precognitive abilities, allowing him to feel opponents or other dangers approaching.

Finally, he is highly intelligent and has a lot of technological understanding. This is demonstrated by the fact that he created his own web-shooters and synthetic web liquid as a high school student.

Weaknesses

Parker is resilient, but not completely invincible–he could theoretically be hurt or killed.

Especially during his first few MCU appearances, Parker’s main weakness was his youth and inexperience, which often caused him to behave recklessly. Though he has gained experience over time, he is still very young and has hard lessons to learn from his mistakes.

Miles Morales vs. Peter Parker: Who Would Win?

Among Spider-Man fans, there is some debate that these two heroes wouldn’t fight each other in the first place.

After all, Morales idolized the Earth-1610 Parker before the latter was killed; he took on the Spider-Man mantle to continue the fallen hero’s work.

The MCU’s Parker also isn’t one to pick a fight with those who don’t pose a threat to the innocent. He is generally a nice guy who gets along with a number of people and probably wouldn’t duel Morales unless absolutely necessary.

So, if Peter Parker and Miles Morales were ever to meet, it’s possible they would become friends and “hash [their disagreements] out with a nice conversation.”

That said, if they were to fight each other, there would be no clear-cut winner.

Morales has additional powers that might give him an advantage, especially during a first meeting when Parker is not aware of his abilities. But even the young MCU Parker has more experience than Morales, which might even the odds a little.

This battle could go either way, and the outcome might be different across various battles. Spider-Man has taken on opponents in Infinity Saga, and his own trilogy, more powerful than Morales.

But the young, reckless Parker might be prone to underestimate Morales, which could leave him vulnerable.

On the other hand, Morales might be more powerful, but he is not as tech savvy or intelligent. So, it’s possible Parker could outsmart him.

One way he could do this is by provoking Morales to use the Mega Venom Blast, which would cause him to become weakened so Parker could easily overpower him.

There are simply too many possible outcomes; we are going to have to call this one a draw.

Parker wins if he outsmarts Morales, as he could easily do with his intelligence and relative experience. But Morales wins if Parker underestimates his powers or becomes reckless, which Parker has shown a tendency of doing throughout the MCU.

Conclusion

Miles Morales and Peter Parker are two Spider-Men from alternate universes. If they were to go up against each other in a fight, they would be equally matched–Morales is more powerful, but Parker has greater levels of intelligence and experience.
