How Many People Boba Fett Has Really Killed? Here’s How To Find Out the True Number

Boba Fett is a ruthless bounty hunter who has killed without pity or mercy. He’s destroyed countless lives in his time, and he seemingly had no remorse for the victims at all.

As a bounty hunter, he was one of the most fear inducing individuals in the galaxy, as well as perhaps the most notorious. He has the reputation of being one of the most skilled trackers in the galaxy.

Often hired by Darth Vader to find specific targets, Boba Fett amassed an impressive kill count. But exactly how many people has he killed? Here’s what I’ve been able to dig up:

Who Did Boba Fett Kill?

Boba Fett is an infamous bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe and has killed a lot of people. Some of them were on purpose, and some of them were not.

Of all the people Boba Fett has killed, there are some noteworthy ones.

Let’s take a look at them.

Firstly, there is IG-88B. IG-88 was a deadly assassin droid who worked as a bounty hunter. This is especially true when he, alongside his bounty hunting comrades, were summoned by Darth Vader to track down the Millenium Falcon and the rebels who occupied it.

IG-88 was unable to track this bounty on his own so his solution was to trail his nemesis, Boba Fett. Of course, Boba Fett beat the assassin droid to the bounty. What’s more, when Fett learnt of IG-88 tracking him, he ended the droid’s life by shooting him in the chest.

While there isn’t much known about Fett’s next kill, Jonny the Sting, he still bears mentioning as he is a testament to Boba Fett’s ability to complete his missions.

Jonny the Sting was a male pit warrior who resided on the planet of Nar Shaddaa. He was killed by Boba Fett as a part of his larger bounty to annihilate Wyrmen Lictor.

As a little anecdote, Wyrmen Lictor was a female pit warrior who was a valuable asset to the Kanji Hutt, thus she was protected by them.

Fett acquired the job to kill Wyrmen when he was hired to collect the frozen Han Solo. This was the point when Han Solo was frozen in carbonite by his father in law, Darth Vader. Boba Fett was then hired to carry him from Vader’s Palace, to Jabba the Hutt’s Palace on Tatooine.

When Boba collected Solo, the carbonite matrix was made unstable. In exchange for stability, Besalisk Doc Ragon commissioned Fett to kill Wyrmen. This was done as revenge for Wyrmen killing Besalisk’s pit fighter.

Finally, there is the case of Bib Fortuna. Fortuna was the staff chief at Jabba the Hutt’s Palace, and served as a majordomo to Jabba Desilijic Tiure.

Bib was a valued asset to the Hutts and oversaw years of events by their side (including the Boonta Eve Classic). He continued to be a loyal servant to Jabba, this was until Jabba the Hutt met his end at the hands of Princess Leia Organa.

At that point, Bib took over the palace and assumed the position of crime lord. He reigned for a couple of years until in 9 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin), Bib was killed by Boba Fett who consequently usurped the throne.

What Is Boba Fett’s Kill Count?

Depending on who you ask, Boba Fett’s kill count has been stated to be anywhere between 4 and 500. However, based on Wookieepedia, it is stated that Boba Fett killed around 178 people.

Of course, Boba Fett is a bounty hunter so he has killed many people for the Empire over the years.

One of Boba Fett’s greatest bounties is the time he hunted down Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi during their attack on Jabba the Hutt’s palace.

This was after Lando Calrissian lost them the Millennium Falcon in a game of Sabacc against Han Solo. In which, Han Solo cheated, beating Lando at his own game.

Although this did not add to his kill count, it’s worth mentioning that Darth Vader hired Boba Fett to capture Luke Skywalker and bring him back to the Death Star. It was through Fett’s hunting of Luke that Darth Vader learnt of his son’s existence.

How Many Kill Stripes Does Boba Fett Have?

In short, a kill stripe is a mark or symbol on Boba Fett’s armor that indicates how many people he has killed. In the Star Wars universe, each kill stripe equals one person killed.

Boba Fett has approximately 18 kill stripes on his helmet, meaning at that point he had killed at least 18 people in total.

While the exact origin of his kill stripes are unknown, it has been speculated that each stripe represents a high profile bounty. Once that bounty had been completed and Boba Fett executed his mark then a kill stripe was added to his helmet.

Nevertheless, we do know that Fett started earning his stripes from a young age. Furthermore, there are most likely significantly more kills that were simply not recorded.

Conclusion

Due to his experience and superior equipment, Boba Fett is a formidable opponent. While he doesn’t have any special abilities like the Jedi or Sith, he makes up for it with his strength, speed, and armor.

Star Wars Boba Fett Kill Count (2022)

If given the chance, Boba would be able to take down just about anyone in the Star Wars universe. He is a bounty hunter, so it should come as no surprise that he has killed many people.

He has survived many encounters with his enemies, along with Darth Maul and numerous Jedi. With his armor and weapons, he is a fearsome foe.

The only one that could beat him would be Darth Vader, but even then Fett would put up a good fight. Boba Fett is an expert marksman and is capable of taking down any target from any distance.

He also has an array of weapons at his disposal, such as thermal detonators, wrist rockets, and wrist lasers.

In addition to being able to take down enemies in personal combat, he can also use his blaster rifle to target them from afar before moving in for the kill.

Boba Fett is one of those characters who always seems calm despite any situation, regardless of how life threatening or mundane it is.
