Wonder Woman is one of the most iconic superheroes in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The daughter of a god and an Amazonian queen, she has many exceptional combat skills and magical powers.

Given that she can win almost any battle, you may think that she’s extremely tall and athletic. While the athletic part is true, she may not be as tall as you would expect.

How tall is Wonder Woman? In her movie appearances, she ranges between 5’7” and 5’10”. She is a little taller in most of her comic book iterations, ranging from 5’8” to 6’2”.

1. Wonder Woman (1974)

This is the pilot movie for the TV show of the same name, discussed below. In this version of Wonder Woman, Cathy Lee Crosby plays the title superhero.

Known as Diana Prince, Wonder Woman works with Steve Trevor, who is a government agent in this adaptation. They spend much of the movie trying to catch a villain who stole confidential information.

There is no specific information on how tall Wonder Woman is in this movie. The actress that plays her is 5’7″ or 5’8”, depending on which source you refer to, so we can assume this is how tall Wonder Woman is.

2. Wonder Woman (1975-1979)

This is not technically a movie but a TV series that ran for several seasons. Following on the heels of the made for TV movie above, this show starred Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman.

In this series, Wonder Woman is an Amazon princess who meets Major Steve Trevor when he crashes on her island during World War I. This encounter convinces her to get involved in the war effort.

She returns to the island after the war but, thirty years later, a meeting with Trevor’s son convinces her to take up the mantle as Wonder Woman once again.

3. Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Diana, AKA Wonder Woman, is the daughter of Zeus and Amazonian Queen Hippolyta, so she is half-god, half-Amazon. She longs to be a warrior and trains in secret against her mother’s wishes.

Diana eventually learns of World War I from Steve Trevor and leaves her island to join the fight. She faces and defeats her brother Ares, the instigator of the war. Though she wins the battle, she is left isolated after Trevor and other friends from the war die in the fight.

Gal Gadot again plays Wonder Woman in this film, so she is 5’9” or 5’10”.

5. Justice League (2017)

This movie is the sequel to Batman vs. Superman. It sees the formation of the Justice League, created in the wake of Superman’s death to protect a world that has been left vulnerable.

Superman comes back to life and joins the league, and Wonder Woman plays a supporting role in the film.

Gal Gadot returns to reprise her role, so Wonder Woman is still 5’9” or 5’10” in this film.

6. Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

This is the sequel/prequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman. Set in the year 1984, Diana is working at a museum and comes across the Dreamstone, a magical relic which grants one wish to anyone who asks it. She wishes Steve Trevor back to life, but loses her powers in the process.

Circumstances force her to reverse her wish and she realizes she must let Steve go. Her powers return, and she is able to prevent a nuclear disaster from destroying Earth.

Gal Gadot returns yet again to the role of Wonder Woman, who remains 5’9” or 5’10”.

7. Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023)

Wonder Woman has a small supporting role in this movie, as the film is mostly about Billy Batson (Shazam) and his family.

Toward the end of the movie, Wonder Woman restores Batson to life after he sacrifices himself.

Gal Gadot again plays Wonder Woman, so she is the same height as she was in her other DCEU appearances.

How Tall is Wonder Woman in the Comics?

Like in the movies, Wonder Woman has gone through a few different iterations in the comic books.

Top 10 Wonder Woman Comics You Should Read

The first version of Wonder Woman, in the Earth-Two comics, was 5’8”.

A slightly later version, found in the Earth-One comics, stood three inches taller at 5’11”. This official height stayed the same for many years and through the release of several versions of DC character guides.

The New 52 version of Wonder Woman finally reached 6 feet tall.

In the DC Rebirth comics, Wonder Woman #6 states that the character stands 6’2”.

DC: The New Frontier didn’t give her exact height, but portrayed Wonder Woman to be taller than Superman by at least a couple of inches. Superman’s given height is 6’3”, so this version of Wonder Woman would have been at least 6’5”.

It’s possible that, as new comic versions of Wonder Woman continue to be released, Wonder Woman’s height may keep increasing.


Wonder Woman’s height in her film and TV appearances depended on the actress that portrayed her and ranged between 5’7” and 5’10”.

Some character versions are significantly taller in the comics, potentially reaching as tall as 6’2” to 6’5”.
