Unkindness Raven and Scarlet Witch are two characters with godlike abilities. If the DC villain squared off against the Avenger, you may wonder who would win this epic duel.
When you look at the strengths of these two, they are almost equal across the board, with Unkindness Raven and Scarlet Witch showing similar capabilities like producing force fields and absorbing others’ powers.
Some of Unkindness Raven’s powers stem from various gods, while Scarlet Witch’s do not, though she derives some power from the Mind Stone. This may give the former an advantage. But since Wanda can absorb such powers, she could use them against Unkindness and win this fight.

Who is the Unkindness Raven?
Formerly a member of the Teen Titans, Unkindness Raven helped the crew fight the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. While she confined the Four Horsemen within her, they corrupted her, prompting Shazam to exile her inside the Rock of Eternity.
Raven later allied with Neuron, who gifted her the Spectre’s powers after he corrupted Shazam. This allowed Neuron to shift Shazam’s powers into Raven, and she officially became known as Unkindness.
Her new powers allowed her to bust out of the Rock, and she unleashed them onto the Multiverse.
Who is Scarlet Witch?
You may know Scarlet Witch as Wanda Maximoff, and while she’s noted as one of the strongest Avengers in the MCU, Maximoff initially allied with Hydra and the supervillain Ultron.
After she and her brother Pietro (Quicksilver) realized Ultron’s corruption, they joined the Avengers. This led to Ultron’s defeat, but little was running smoothly between Wanda and the rest of the group.
The United Nations wished to pass the Sokovia Accords, and Wanda chose to side with Captain America (Steve Rogers) in what became the Avengers Civil War.
Wanda’s side came off on the losing end. And while she was imprisoned for a time, she was later freed, allowing her to flee to Edinburgh, Scotland, with the Vision.
Their time on the run was short-lived, as the Infinity War thrust them back into action, reuniting the couple with the Avengers.
To stop Thanos from winning the war and snapping out half the universe, Wanda tried to kill Vision, who had the Mind Stone implanted in his forehead. But Thanos used the Time Stone to kill Vision himself and take the Mind Stone.
Wanda was one of many to be snapped out of existence, but she returned in 2023 during Endgame when the Hulk (Bruce Banner) reversed Thanos’ snap.
She held her own against Thanos, helping the Avengers win the Infinity War. After a disastrous stint in Westview, New Jersey, Wanda adopted her Scarlet Witch moniker and studied the Darkhold, which later corrupted her.
Scarlet Witch’s Strengths
Long before she became Scarlet Witch, Wanda’s strength was on full display when her Chaos Magic prevented a Stark Industries bomb from exploding.
Her Chaos Magic is so powerful that it trapped citizens of Westview inside a Hex, and it even created a new form of Vision, who’d previously died during the Infinity War.
Further, it transformed Westview into its own reality, one that comprised the ideal suburban lifestyle based on sitcoms between the 1950s and 2000s.
The magic kept magical abilities from other witches, like Agatha Harkness, at bay, thanks to those protective runes surrounding the Hex.
While Wanda didn’t realize how powerful she was until she embraced her Scarlet Witch identity, we saw her manipulate and control minds multiple times during the Infinity Saga. She was so gifted in this ability that it sent the Hulk on a rampage during Age of Ultron.
In WandaVision, Scarlet Witch showed us that she could absorb another’s powers, as she did in her climactic battle with Agatha Harkness, a witch who’d been around for millennia.
If she sees fit, Scarlet Witch can also turn an opponent’s strengths against them. She showed off this ability vs. Vision in Captain America: Civil War when she turned the Mind Stone against him.
Given her incredible strengths, you could consider teleportation to be an underrated strength. But if Scarlet Witch needed a quick getaway or to invoke a surprise attack against an opponent, then her ability to teleport would come in handy.
Unkindness Raven’s Strengths
When sources say Unkindness Raven’s powers exceed Thanos’, you know she’s one powerful supervillain.
A half-demon, Unkindness can astral project, allowing her spirit to scout dangerous areas for her. She can also manipulate and control objects in her astral form.
Since Neuron channeled Shazam’s powers into her, she also has all of his abilities, plus those she absorbed from the Four Horsemen.
With Shazam’s powers inside her, Unkindness boasts Atlas’ stamina, Hercules’ strength, and Solomon’s wisdom. She also has Zeus’ powers and Mercury’s speed.
Unkindness also has a powerful brand of magic capable of producing force fields, absorbing the powers of others, and firing magically-charged beams at opponents. She can even conjure and control supercharged plasma via pyrokinesis.
Scarlet Witch’s Weaknesses
While it’s common to rank Scarlet Witch as one of the strongest, if not the strongest, Avenger, she has drawbacks that could send her down the rankings.

One weakness is that she needs mental clarity and time to cast her most powerful spells. If Scarlet Witch lacks either of these, then she would have a tough time defeating an opponent capable of matching her in strength.
Her Chaos Magic, while serving as a strength, is also a major weakness thanks to its instability. As the spells she wishes to cast grow stronger, the higher the likelihood her Chaos Magic becomes even more unstable.
Such instability could result in a less powerful spell than she may have otherwise intended to cast. And if that occurs, an opponent with similar ability would quickly defeat her.
She also has a tendency to be reckless. And the more imprudent her mind, the higher the likelihood that a spell could go awry, and it would play to any opponent’s advantage.
Unkindness Raven’s Weaknesses
Empathy is Unkindness’ biggest and perhaps her only glaring weakness. If she invokes major damage on an opponent, there is a chance she can feel that pain, too.
Against weak opponents where Unkindness wouldn’t need to invoke such powerful attacks, she would be fine. But if she faces someone as powerful as Scarlet Witch, her empathy could lead to her downfall if she feels the pain she’s invoking.

Unkindness Raven vs. Scarlet Witch: Who Would Win?
One major difference between Unkindness Raven and Scarlet Witch is that, given the former’s absorption of abilities, she has the powers of gods. Scarlet Witch’s does not. This makes Unkindness Raven the stronger of the two.
However, as an empath, she would have a tough time overpowering and defeating Scarlet Witch, as it’s likely that she would feel Maximoff’s pain if she inflicted too much of it.
We also know that Scarlet Witch can absorb powers, as she did to Agatha in WandaVision. So if Maximoff manages to do the same in a fight against Unkindness Raven, she’s winning this one.
But wait, can’t Unkindness do the same thing? The answer is yes, but since Wanda’s powers fall short of a god’s, Unkindness wouldn’t go this route.
Instead, she’d attempt to use her god-like abilities before Wanda has a chance to consume them.
Therefore, while Unkindness appears to be the stronger of the two, Wanda’s ability to absorb an opponent’s power ultimately puts her on an equal platform. Once she siphons these godlike powers, Scarlet Witch will win.
The only way Unkindness wins this fight is if she manages to defeat Wanda quickly enough so that the latter has no chance to absorb her powers, and if her empathy doesn’t get in the way. But overall, this battle goes to Scarlet Witch.
Conclusion
You’re looking at arguably the most powerful characters in Marvel and DC squaring off in this one. And Unkindness Raven may be the most powerful overall.
But being the weaker of the two in a fight like this one is an advantage for Scarlet Witch, as she can consume Unkindness’ god-like ability. While Unkindness can do the same, Wanda’s powers, though strong, fall short of a god’s, even if they don’t fall short by much.
So while Unkindness can win this fight, Scarlet Witch earns a narrow victory here.
