Top Weirdest Mutants in Marvel Universe

Top Weirdest Mutants in Marvel Universe

I’m sure you’ve all heard about the strongest mutants like Wolverine, Jean Grey, or Cyclops; but have you ever heard about the WEIRDEST?

Today, we’re going to explore those. Stick around, and let’s see: How weird do you think these characters are?

Eye-Scream

Yes. You don’t hear it wrong: Eye-Scream (instead of “Ice-Cream).

In a world where mutants wield awe-inspiring powers, Eye-Scream’s ability is, well, “unique.”

I don’t know why but his ability is in fact, to turn himself into any flavor of ice cream. From chocolate to strawberry, or even a banana split, he has them all.

But honestly, do you want to taste an ice-scream that used to be a human part…? *yuck*

Eye-Scream’s infiltration of the Xavier’s School aimed to showcase his disdain for the X-Men’s “fantastic abilities” by sabotaging a birthday party.

The plan? … Melt into the scene as ice cream!?

But, instead of spreading the fear, he became a party treat, frozen and then turned into a sundae topping by Obnoxio the Clown.

Well, at least until the end, he realized he was rather a party guy than a villain.

Lifeguard

Heather Cameron, or Lifeguard, is an Australian mutant first seen in action as a lifeguard.

She’s part of the “X-Treme X-Men” series but hasn’t been explored much beyond her impressive but underutilized powers.

Lifeguard has the power to sense when someone nearby is in danger and instantly change her body to save them.

This can mean turning into a creature with wings, growing gills to swim, or even becoming armored in gold.

But the point is: She doesn’t control this power at all! It’s all about what’s needed to save OTHER lives.

That sounds compassionate, but all of the sudden, you transform into a giant bird or a fish because someone nearby is in trouble. Frankly, it is kinda annoying.

And I think these new details could be explored in the future. But now, it is still… complicated.

Beak

Beak, aka Barnell Bohusk, came from Rotterdam and applied to the Xavier Institute. But, he’s a standout in the “awkward power” category across various story arcs.

Initially, Beak’s got the bird-man package – think flying (kinda), talons, and, yes, a beak.

After the House of M, he loses these abilities and returns to a more human-like state. Even though he lost the mutation, he got the chance to rock an advanced suit as Blackwing.

Fortunately, this transition was a step away from being labeled “chicken” as “Beak.”

Fun fact: Even when he was powerless as “Beak,” he still had a girlfriend – Angel.

Forget Me Not (!?)

I know it’s not the name of a flower, but Forget-Me-Not is one of the X-Men’s founding members, present yet unnoticed for over 6 years.

His power renders him nearly invisible to memory and perception, existing in a constant state of superposition where all memory of him vanishes the moment he’s out of sight.

Forget-Me-Not’s abilities are a double-edged sword. They enable him to be an unsung hero, intervening in pivotal moments without leaving a trace.

However, this also results in a solitary existence, invisible and forgotten by his peers, even during crucial events like battles against the Brood or life on Utopia.

His quest for recognition and connection led him to drastic measures, like trying to remove his powers, only to embrace them again realizing the good he could do.

Despite his critical role and even sacrificing himself, ForgetMeNot remains the X-Men’s forgotten hero, his contributions erased from memory as soon as they’re made.
