Marvel Is About To Kill Deadpool Right At The Beginning Of The New Era

In a surprising twist, Marvel Comics is set to kill off Deadpool this September.

This bold move comes just as excitement builds for the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, reuniting Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on the big screen.

The new Deadpool comic series, written by Cody Ziglar and illustrated by Rogê Antônio, has already seen some exciting developments, including the return of Deadpool’s daughter and the introduction of a new villain, Death Grip.

Death Grip, who has a fascination with death, is set to face off with Deadpool in what promises to be a climactic battle in Deadpool #6.

Marvel’s decision to kill Deadpool now, right as a new era begins, is a shock to many fans.

The editor’s note on the cover of Deadpool #6 reads, “This is the first issue of a new era and killing Deadpool NOW would be an INSANE thing to do. Which is exactly why we’re doing it.”

The new villain, Death Grip, has a unique background combining mystic arts and martial abilities.

Deadpool writer Cody Ziglar mentioned, “Without spoiling anything, Wade’s unkillable, he has a pretty laissez-faire attitude towards anything, and Death Grip is a character that has a unique approach to that stuff.”

“He’s a guy that, we get into it later in this series, but he has studied the Mystic Arts, like a Doctor Strange-type academy. Only he failed out. He’s a mix of mystic with someone like Shang-Chi or some of Iron Fist’s abilities,” Ziglar added.

This timing is unusual since Deadpool’s popularity is at an all-time high, with new movies and comics coming out. But Marvel seems to enjoy keeping fans on their toes.

While Deadpool’s death is certain, his return is inevitable. As with other major Marvel characters like Spider-Man and Iron Man, who have died only to come back, it’s not a question of “if” but “how” and “why” Deadpool will be resurrected.

We can expect a thrilling ride as the series explores these new dynamics.

Until then, Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters this July, and the latest Deadpool comics are available for those eager to dive into the Merc with a Mouth’s latest adventures.
