Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) may soon see two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Keanu Reeves and Ryan Gosling, sharing their dream role.
Both actors have expressed a strong desire to play the iconic character Ghost Rider, and it seems that the upcoming film “Avengers: Secret Wars” could make this a reality.
Why Ghost Rider?
Keanu Reeves has always been vocal about his childhood dream to play Ghost Rider.
In a live show on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Reeves shared, “10-year-old Reeves would want to — I think he’d probably want to be Ghost Rider.”
Known for his love of motorcycles and his cool demeanor, Reeves fits the Ghost Rider image perfectly.
A fan echoed this sentiment, saying, “Reeves owns a motorcycle company, so it is not surprising that this character draws his interest. I’m sure it would be a dream for him and his company to draw the association of the character to their brand.”
Ryan Gosling, on the other hand, has become a fan favorite for various Marvel roles over the years.
Recently, he mentioned his interest in playing Ghost Rider during an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, saying, “I really want to play Ghost Rider.”

With his impressive range of acting skills and his rising popularity following his role as Ken in “Barbie,” Gosling’s addition to the MCU could bring a fresh and exciting dynamic to the franchise.
A fan commented, “I thought Gosling always said he didn’t wanna commit to multiple movies hence why we haven’t had him. I am all for whatever he wants to play, dude’s a talent for sure.”
The concept of both Reeves and Gosling playing Ghost Rider may seem far-fetched, but the unique structure of “Avengers: Secret Wars” could make it possible.
This highly anticipated film will be a culmination of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, bringing together characters and actors from different Marvel universes.
This means we could see multiple versions of Ghost Rider, with Reeves and Gosling each taking on a different variant of the character.
One intriguing theory suggests that Reeves could portray the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, while Gosling might take on the role of Danny Ketch, another popular iteration of the character.
This would allow both actors to bring their own flair to the role while staying true to the source material.
However, some fans have voiced concerns about the actors’ ages, with one noting, “Keanu Reeves and Norman Reedus are too old by the time they finally get his story going in the MCU, especially if it’s for multiple years. I think Gosling would be fantastic, but the movie should be R-rated. I want it to be an accurate and frightening depiction.”
What Does Marvel Have to Say?
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has expressed interest in bringing both actors into the MCU.
He mentioned that having Gosling in the franchise would be great after having heard about his interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and has had multiple discussions with Reeves about potential roles.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Feige said, “We talk to him for almost every film we make.”
“We talk to Keanu Reeves about. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it,” he added.
While it’s not confirmed whether Ghost Rider was specifically discussed, the enthusiasm from both parties suggests that something exciting could be in the works.
With “Avengers: Secret Wars” offering a unique opportunity to explore the multiverse and bring back beloved characters and actors, the dream of seeing Keanu Reeves and Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider could soon become a reality.
Whether they play different versions of the same character or bring entirely new interpretations, fans are eager to see how these two stars will leave their mark on the MCU.
