Is Doctor Strange The Biggest THREAT to The Multiverse?

Is Doctor Strange The Biggest THREAT to The Multiverse?

Doctor Stephen Strange, a hero since MCU phase 3, stands with the Avengers—yet, could his powers make him a threat like Wanda became the Scarlet Witch?

Today, we’ll explore how Doctor Strange becomes the biggest villain in The Multiverse?

So, buckle up as we dive through the Explain-Dimensional Portal.

How Can Dr. Strange Creates Incursions in The Multiverse?

Incursions occur when universes collide, posing a threat of destruction. The general principle involved is traveling to and impacting the stability of another universe.

Misusing or losing the Time Stone, which he must protect as Supreme Sorcerer, is one way.

As the Ancient One explained, removing a Stone would alter the flow of reality, making that world defenseless against darkness – then, it would be overrun.

Another incursion method is dream walking with the Darkhold, which can corrupt users and trigger incursions, as it did with Scarlet Witch.

Doctor Strange – with his most profound knowledge in Kamar Taj, knows the Darkhold’s location at Mount Wundagore, placing heavy responsibility on him as guardian of significant secrets.

Given his knowledge and power, is Strange a threat? Let’s examine his motives.

Did Doctor Strange aim to disrupt the Multiverse?

Yes, “What If” and a variant in “Madness” show he misused Multiverse travel.

His consistent motive: breaking rules due to arrogance, influencing MCU incursions significantly.

From his first appearance, using the Time Stone against Dormammu highlighted his tendency to bend rules.

This behavior persists across MCU films, like trading the Time Stone to Thanos in “Infinity War” and causing chaos in “No Way Home” by erasing memories and colliding universes.

In “Multiverse of Madness,” Earth 838’s Strange also employs the Darkhold for dream walking to confront Scarlet Witch.

His earlier recklessness as a surgeon and conversations with Wong, the current Supreme Sorcerer, further exemplify this.

Despite good outcomes, Strange’s disregard for rules and rituals remains a constant, challenging Multiversal order.

The key question is whether his actions have crossed a line. The Earth 838 Illuminati, guarding against high-level threats, indeed view the 616 Doctor Strange as their most dangerous threat.

If Dr. Strange Creates an Incursion, What Could Be The Price?

In “What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?” Strange abuses the Time Stone, absorbing creature powers to become Strange Supreme.

The cost? He later absorbs his universe, causing an incursion to save Christine and leaving him the sole survivor—an unfair outcome for his goal.

Furthermore, his arrogance triggers incursions in other scenarios, notably in “Madness,” where Darkhold corruption leaves him as the only living entity.

Thus, regardless of intentions, the price Doctor Strange has to pay is his profound loneliness.

Well, as you can see, Strange losing his arms is still better than losing his heart (and his arrogance as well).
