Ahsoka is an excellent duelist and is clearly strong in the Force; this has led many fans to wonder just how strong she really is.
How powerful is Ahsoka Tano?
Though she is not the most powerful Jedi or Force-user, Ahsoka has many skills and abilities that have led to her becoming quite powerful in her own right. These include her lightsaber skills, her connection to the Force, and her willingness to grow and learn continually.

How Powerful Is Ahsoka Tano?
Ahsoka makes multiple appearances over several decades of the Star Wars timeline. To consider how powerful she is, we need to look at her skill level during each of these appearances.
In The Clone Wars
Ahsoka was introduced in the initial Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie. In this made-for-TV pilot of The Clone Wars show, 14-year-old Ahsoka was assigned as Anakin Skywalker’s padawan.
As part of this assignment, she was immediately sent into a combat situation. This says a lot about her fighting skills even as a Jedi youngling.
Even before receiving her assignment, she had caught the attention of the Jedi Council. Her skills were far more advanced than the others in her peer group.
At this time, her skills were largely combat-related. That said, she also showed a remarkable connection to the Force.
By combining these abilities, she was able to single-handedly defeat three MagnaGuard droids, pull and push objects with the Force, and keep up with Anakin during her very first combat assignment.
Her skills grew throughout the Clone Wars as she learned from Anakin, the Chosen One, and gained much more combat experience.
She managed to stay alive through countless missions, even when the Jedi and clone soldiers turned against her when she was framed for bombing the Jedi Temple. Though this experience led her to walk away from the Jedi Council, she maintained her connection to the Force.
Finally, at the age of 17, she managed to survive Order 66, despite being trapped on a ship filled with soldiers who were trying to kill her.
It’s easy to see that Ahsoka was highly talented even among the Jedi–especially considering her young age.
In Rebels
Ahsoka managed to stay alive throughout the years following Order 66, eluding the efforts of the Inquisitorius who were constantly trying to track down Jedi survivors.
Eventually, she began working with Bail Organa to gather and provide intelligence to various rebel cells before the organization of the Rebel Alliance.
This work eventually led her to Kanan Jarrus, another Order 66 survivor, and his Padawan, Ezra Bridger.
During her appearances on Star Wars Rebels, it is clear to see that Ahsoka grew both in power and maturity following the Clone Wars.
Though Kanan and Ezra struggled in their encounters with various Inquisitors, Ahsoka battled against two of them at once and controlled the battle from the start.
She displayed an increased awareness of the Force which she used to further Ezra’s training and sense attacks before they came. She fought easily against Darth Maul and ultimately faced her former Master, now the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
Though she certainly would have died in this battle if Ezra had not saved her, she held her own against Vader for far longer than most Jedi could have hoped to. This is a testament to her skills in lightsaber combat, mental strength, and use of the Force.
In The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett
Following the Galactic Civil War, Ahsoka and her Mandalorian comrade, Sabine Wren, left to search for Ezra, who had gone missing before the start of the war. When she made her next appearance in The Mandalorian, it appeared that she was still on the hunt.
In the show, she encountered another Mandalorian, Din Djarin, and the Force-sensitive child Grogu. By this time, she was a wise Force-user and warrior who could still hold her own in a battle, but who also appeared to have deepened her connection with the Force.
She was able to converse telepathically with Grogu, learning the details of his past and sensing his strong emotional connection to Djarin.
She refused to train him because of this connection; however, in The Book of Boba Fett, she spoke with Luke Skywalker–offering words of advice and counsel as he attempted to train Grogu.
The fact that she was still alive at this time shows that she is powerful. She had survived the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and various other smaller-scale battles, conflicts, and even betrayals.
She has learned much throughout many years of experience, and it has made her wise, powerful, and firmly rooted in the light side of the Force.
Ahsoka Tano’s Powers
For much of her time on the screen, Ahsoka’s powers are most noticeable during combat.
By the time she became Anakin’s Padawan, she was already a skilled lightsaber duelist. She refined these skills even more during her three years learning under Anakin, as it appears he taught her in many different forms of lightsaber combat.
She also developed an unorthodox fighting style that was uniquely suited to her own strengths and abilities. Combined with her natural speed and agility, her lightsaber skills made her one of the best Jedi warriors during the waning days of the Galactic Republic.
In addition to her fighting abilities, Ahsoka developed a deep connection to the Force. Even as a young Padawan, her powers of Force awareness and telekinesis served her well in a number of situations.
She uses mental skills such as the Jedi mind trick and telepathy with ease, and her heightened senses allow her to detect danger as well as sense the emotions or intentions of other characters.
She also seems to have a heightened connection to the Living Force, and she allowed the dreams and visions she received to guide her. It would appear that, even after many years, she has remained teachable and open to the will of the Force.
This in itself is a power, as it has allowed her to gain wisdom and strength far beyond her raw abilities and talents.
Is Ahsoka Tano the Most Powerful Jedi?
As a youngling, Ahsoka was definitely seen as one of the most promising Jedi of her time. She was considered by many to be a prodigy, and this likely had a lot to do with her being assigned as Anakin’s Padawan.
That said, she could not be considered the most powerful Jedi that ever lived.
For one thing, she was not as Force-sensitive as her Master. Anakin Skywalker was said to have the highest midi-chlorian count on record, meaning he had far greater Force potential than Ahsoka did.
There’s also a good chance she was less powerful than Anakin’s children, Luke and Leia, who likely inherited a great amount of Force-sensitivity from their father.
What’s more, it seems unlikely that Ahsoka could match the skill level and Force connection that Yoda enjoyed–after all, Yoda had 900 years to develop this connection, while Ahsoka was just 45 or 46 years old at the time of her latest appearance in Star Wars.
It is unclear how she would match up against most other Jedi since she was quite young when Order 66 wiped out 99 percent of them.
That said, the fact that she managed to survive the massacre that destroyed 99 percent of her comrades would indicate a great amount of power and resilience on Ahsoka’s part.
Ahsoka Tano vs. Darth Vader
Ahsoka confronted her former master in the Season 2 finale of Star Wars Rebels. Though she ultimately lost the duel, this matchup showed just how skilled Ahsoka was.
She fought valiantly, holding her own against her larger and stronger opponent. Her skill with her lightsabers, though not quite equal with Vader’s, was enough to allow her to stay in the battle for much longer than anyone else who dared to go up against him.
She also used the Force to push him across the room and even managed to slice open his mask with one of her lightsabers.
Their battle raged until the Sith Temple on Malachor began to collapse around them; then Ahsoka plunged her lightsabers into the floor, apparently intending them both to fall through.
Instead, a future version of Ezra reached through from the World Between Worlds, pulling her to safety moments before Vader would have struck her down.
It is clear from this duel that Darth Vader was still stronger and more powerful than Ahsoka; nevertheless, her expert dueling skills, strength of character, and connection to the Force allowed her to do what she needed to do when it counted most.
Conclusion
Ahsoka Tano was a powerful Jedi Padawan. Even after she left the Jedi Order, her powers and Force connection have continued to grow, allowing her to become a wise and strong ally to all those who fight for good in the galaxy.
